Norma Damiani is the owner and principal of Steeple on the Beach Montessori. Her connection to the Montessori philosophy began in her own childhood in Chihuahua, Mexico, where she first experienced the values of independence, respect, and curiosity that continue to inspire her work today.

With more than 23 years of Montessori experience, Norma was thrilled to take ownership of SOTB in 2017. Over the years, she has taught in Mexico, Italy, Texas, California, and Florida, bringing a rich global perspective to her classrooms. In addition to her Montessori background, Norma completed 2½ years of Nutrition studies, deepening her understanding of holistic child development and well-being. She is also a proud mother of a young adult son who attended a Montessori school during his childhood—a journey that strengthened her belief in the power of the Montessori approach.

With over 20 years of dedicated experience in Montessori education, I have cultivated a deep expertise in child-centered pedagogy and holistic learning. My journey began in Lausanne, Switzerland, where I studied, worked, and lived for seven enriching years, earning a pedagogical diploma with a Montessori specialty.  Over the years, I have continued to expand my knowledge and apply my passion for nurturing independent, lifelong learners, both in classroom settings and through educational leadership roles.

As a mother of two, I believe in nurturing independence, curiosity, and kindness, values that guide both my teaching and parenting. I understand the importance of connection, curiosity and care, both at home and in the classroom. Outside of school, I enjoy travelling, dancing, reading, spending time at the beach and most of all, making memories with my family. These personal passions shape my teaching philosophy, reminding me daily that learning is most powerful when it’s rooted in love, exploration and belonging.

Hello Steeple family,

I’m Paula and I’m so excited to be joining the Casa team this school year. I have almost nine years of experience working in classrooms as an assistant, around four of those years being in a Montessori environment. Born in Poland and raised in NYC, I’m happy to start this next chapter here in Florida and make this my permanent home. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in various Montessori environments, guiding children in both the Infant Community and the Children’s House. With over 23 years of experience in Montessori education, I have come to realize that my true passion lies in being with the children—observing, guiding, and supporting their natural development.

There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing a child’s joy and pride when they accomplish something independently. That moment of realization—when they know “I can do it myself”—is deeply meaningful and reminds me every day why I chose this beautiful profession.

My name is Brenda Montoya. I was born in Mexico City . I am a wife and a proud mother of two wonderful girls, ages 6 and 5, who—along with my husband—are my greatest motivation every day.

In Mexico, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminalistics and later completed a Master’s Degree in Criminal Investigation in Forensic Sciences, a field I have always been deeply passionate about for its focus on truth, justice, and investigation.

Three years ago, I made the decision to move to the United States, beginning a new chapter in my life. Here, I studied to become a Teacher Assistant and have completed several training courses related to child care and early childhood development. This experience has allowed me to discover a new vocation that I truly love and enjoy—guiding, educating, and caring for children during their early years of learning.

I consider myself a dedicated, responsible, and growth-oriented person, always eager to keep learning and to give my best in every stage of my life, both personally and professionally.

In 2024, I joined Steeple on the Beach Montessori as Assistant Director, a role that deepened my passion for early childhood education. I am currently enrolled with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) to earn my 0–3 Guide certificate and am serving as the interim lead teacher in the Nido classroom. I look forward to completing my studies in the summer of 2026 and continuing to expand my knowledge of child development.

My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and grow into their fullest potential.

“I love working with children because the impact we make today can guide them for the rest of their lives.”

My name is Kris and I am the mother of two children that were also part of the beautiful family of SOTB. I was born in the Basque Country, North of Spain, where I also met my life partner. He came to the States as a Jai Alai player and I also did so when I finished my Environmental Science Bachelor. Once in the States I had the opportunity to start working in a small Montessori school as an assistant and this is how I met this beautiful methodology and, also, Ms. Melody. I worked for two years, most part of the time in the infant environment along Ms.Melody. For sure these two years will change my traditional perception of how to raise my children. During this time, I also had the opportunity of assisting at primary class in a bigger Montessori school. Then, I became a mother of my first child and I spent the first year with her until I started working in a different field. When my second child  was born, I decided that I wanted a Montessori  school for them to grow and this is why I came to the SOTB. Recently I finish my AMI assistant to infancy assistant training.
